Welcome to Warrior Hockey Testing (WHT)! Please read and understand the expectations of this process prior to registration.
Arrival and Registration Process
Each participant must be on-time for all parts of this process. Participants who arrive late will not receive credit towards future testing and tests will not be restarted for late participants. Renting ice and arranging the testing requires planning and payment to both the facilities and the staff who support this program. Be sure to arrive on time.
Check-in and Registration
To obtain your initial arrival time and date, contact Korre Pieper at 808-281-5405 or email at korre@warriorthockeytesting.com. Upon arrival, each participant must check in at the registration table located near the entrance of the O’Malley Sports Centre. Testing will take place within 1 hour of arrival. So, sharpen your skates before you get here!
Purpose and Need of the Database
The purpose of this testing is to build a database based off of a standardized test. The results of the skater’s data will allow WHT to develop skill maturation milestones, an individual compilation of a skater’s abilities over time, and serve as a rehabilitative guide to help injured players. The compilation of data, demonstrating hockey players who are moving in a variety of directions, with a multitude of functional scenarios, will reveal trends among the individual and groups of skaters. This information will be used to compare skaters in an objective manner and show how each hockey player compares to other hockey players, as well as how the individual develops. Anyone from age 12 and up is welcome in the initial data collection phase.
Cost
The cost is $15 per participant during the initial phase of data collection from June 12, 2020 until August 1, 2020. WHT accepts checks (payable to Warrior Hockey Testing) or cash upon arrival. There are no limits on how many tests each hockey player takes. WHT encourages taking multiple tests if he/she is currently undergoing rehabilitation from an injury or looking to improve aspects of their skating skills, and wishes to know their progress. After August 1, 2020, pricing will be adjusted to include a testing fee plus subscription as WHT develops the database for hockey players to track results online.
** ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION **
Participants must be on time and registered 30 minutes prior to your assigned testing time and participate in the mandatory off-ice education orientation.
It is strongly recommended that you arrive 1 hour prior to testing. Once registration closes, hockey players will not be added on, even if you confirmed beforehand. Late arrival participants will not receive a refund, or be able to participate during their assigned time.
All hockey players/participants must wear full required hockey gear.
Players and goalies must be in full professional hockey game gear. Participants that are not in full gear will not be tested. Tests are only completed in hockey skates and approved goalie skates. WHT will go through any questions that the participants may have after the on-ice testing portion of the exam is completed.
Initially, participants will receive testing results via email and eventually have the ability to log onto the database to view those results.
